In preparation for next week's GTwCS, I am posting this video which explains the difference between layer masks and alpha channels. It is not so much an exercise, though I have also tried the example he showed, it is more of an explanation. But as we will need to use an alpha channel next week, it helps to watch this first. I had no idea what an alpha channel was used for.

I am hoping you watch this and that some discussion will develop, since it is certainly not an easy concept.
