CS3 question?

I need to do an uninstall and reinstall on my desk top. What the heck is going to happen to all of my actions?
I have looked in the files trying to find where they are located so I can copy but I can't find that either.
Can someone give me some guidance?

Kimi, this is the path where they are in Vista, don't remember if it was the same in XP or what you are using.
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets

Although, actions I have loaded using the load in the Actions drop menu do not show here. They run from the location I loaded them from. In my case, an action file I have on my PC in My Documents.

Kim, I have XP. That is my problem. I loaded all of them and I don't see them in the preset folder. I have copies of some but certainly not all. And some I have paid big bucks for.
I have all of the totally rad actions. (not cheap)

I would recommend doing a search if you know the name of them. Other than that, Maybe someone more knowledgeable will come along soon.

In Vista, I just did a search for .atn and it pulled up all of my actions and where they are.

Your CS3 actions in XP should be here:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Actions

They are named by their groupings, not the individual actions themselves for the most part. And if you are doing a search on them. the files end with .atn.

Kimi, did you look here?

C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Actions

You may have to turn on hidden files and folders to see that folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\{yourname}\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Presets\Actions

That's the first or second place I looked, but my folder there is empty.

If you can't find the .atn files, you could go into CS3 and save the actions.

In the action palette
1. Select the action set you're interested in (ex. Pioneer Woman Set 1)
2. Click on the fly out menu (down caret with 3 horizontal lines to the right of it)
3. Select "Save Actions..."

My preset folder is empty. I can do what Barbara suggested and save them to a folder on my desktop. (I have 67 actions, this may take a while)
I will try the search first for the atn. files.
