I have no idea how old Photoshop Version 7 is but a few weeks ago I was given the software by someone who had it but never installed it because they thought it would be too hard to learn. Should I even attempt to learn Version 7. I'm sure it is extremely old at this point. Does anyone know how old it is and if it's worth my effort?

If you can load it and legally register it, it will allow you to buy CS3 for $199. That would definitely make it worthwhile. Other than that, PSE 5 and 6 have better basic editing tools, and you could never use PS7 to open your RAW images.
