I have been holding down SHIFT when I drag on my pictures. Tell me (again) why i do this?

so it maintains the correct aspect ratio. Did i say that? As i sit here looking for my question mark. :mrgreen:
Do I do that while I'm cropping or when?

yes when every you have the little circle in each corner you , for lack of a better example you can resize something when you have the move tool selected. Using the shift key will keep it with the correct aspect ratio.

you are so very welcome. Glad to be able to help. I have memory fogs all the time. Thats why i am thankful for you all.
In PSE5 you don't need to do it that way.

At least that's the way I remember it. Give it a try.

There's another time when holding Shift helps and that's when you move one image onto another. Holding Shift will position the image you're moving onto the centre of the other one.
