I am considering buying myself a new desktop computer for Photoshop CS4. I presently have a laptop but I don't like it as much as I use to like my old desktop. Considering that Adobe must probably will come out with a new version of Photoshop, what specifications should I consider for my desktop? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Laura

Two years ago I moved from a Windows machine to an iMac. Having used both, my recommendation is to get an iMac - you will not be sorry.

Laura,
I got the laptop I work with daily and am thoroughly pleased. Get the biggest hard drive you can afford and at least 4 gigs of RAM. You won't be sorry. PS and PSE are RAM hogs. Just my two cents worth. BTW I'm on a PC.

Chas, if you are using windows and money is not a problem then get the new iMac w/ 24" monitor 64 bits with 8 gigs of RAM and 1 TB HD . Then you get a LaCie 1 TB External HD for back up. You then buy an inexpensive 17" monitor (any brand will do for image qua;ity is not important) and connect it to the imac. Then set LR and CS4 or 5 for double monitor and you will be the happiest man on 2010 :D You will have the main image on the 24" monitor and all the palettes on the 17" monitor. Get Spyder3 to calibrate your new monitor and you will be smilling for a long time amigo.

You will need to contact Adobe to change your software from windows to mac they charge about $15.00 per program.
FELIZ ANO NUEVO 2010,
Don

A PC can do that to! Quite well, as a matter of fact.

Just had to throw that in there. :rotfl: :rotfl: :puter:
