I know how to create an action but I have some issues when it plays out. I save files for the web all the time and need help with my action.

I record the action:
Duplicate the photo as: "whatever my action name it"
Image size: I change it to the size I need and hit ok
Save for Web: I hit save and it saves it to my web file
Close: and I hit NO.
Stop and my action is done...........

Here is my issue: I open a photo and the action plays out but instead of the option box showing where I can change the file name it opens as "Replace File" I don't want to keep going thru this step I want it to show were I can rename my file. If I keep this route I have to go back and rename it after it's saved and that negates the action I created. I'm trying to save time.

Grafi or anyone, Can you help me with this?

Jen,
I am new at recording actions, but it seems to be fun!
Here is what I managed to record:
http://mbret.club.fr/bretchermichel/myset.atn
works in PSE6 too...

From my tests, the second icon from the left toggles the dialog on/off.
If you create a duplicate without opening the dialog, it will save with the default 'my image copy...' and the save for web will try to overwrite it, hence the last dialog.

Michel, That is it EXACTLY. Please tell me exactly what you did because when I do that it never comes up like your steps do. WIth the prompt screens where you change the name.

This is my first try and I really want to master this particular action.....perfectionist so to say on this stuff.

Plus, not sure how to duplicate like you said. Need more instructions???

Thanks. I hope that not too much to ask of you.

Michel I will send you my file but I don't know how to get it. Mine doesn't give me any options it just does it. What did I do wrong? Let me know how to get the action I saved and I will post it.

Just noticed that I don't have toggle on/off on my either.

Jen,
I am really happy to be on the right direction.
I hope experienced Photoshop users can explain more. Today, I have access to a CS copy, and I tried to replicate your workflow. Duplicating in CS is in the menu Edit/duplicate. In PSE6 it is in File/duplicate. It works the same however.
I first recorded my action which led me to the final dialog to overwrite; then I edited my action by toggling the dialog icons on (2nd from the left) and saved the action anew. That's the result I wanted.
Does this help a little more?

I think what Michel is talking about is this"
