I haven't tried this yet, but I read through it and it looks great. I would suggest these adaptations for PSE: the use of the pen tool (use the polygonal lasso tool instead), color overlay (use a color adjustment layer and group with previous). What do you guys think?

Interesting - I've never seen one done that way before. I'll have to experiment. and see if I can come up with a way to do it in PSE.
