My family has a tradition of handing over wish lists on Thanksgiving day - I'm emailing mine this year since it is full of links to scrapping stuff. :)

Last year I asked for and got both volumes of Creative Sketches for Scrapbooking by Becky Higgins.
http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/shop/item.ihtml?idx=95 They are so handy for jump starting the creative process.

This year I returned to Creating Keepsakes site to add to my wish list. :)

So what's on your wish list? :D
Jane, looks like some great books. I will have to check them out further.

Wags--The only thing on my list right now is a good wide-angle lens. I hope Santa sees this. Could you somehow possibly make this thread available to Santa.

I bought my Nikon mount - Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4 for under $300 from Sigmaforless.com. MSRP is $700. Some think it's a little soft. I don't notice that. There's some distorsion, but there always will be some with wide angle. I don't notice much falloff at all, but under certain circumstances you can see some (17mm - bright even subject). It has good Macro properties. Minimum focus distance 9". The reason I picked this out, it had HMS which will work on my D40.
If money's not a factor, you could spend $1,500 for the Nikon 17-35mm and get a much better lens I'm sure. This one is fits my pocket book much better. I had no problems with the company either. I ordered it on Saturday and had it in my hands along with my SB800 on Wednesday.

I hope this can help.

My list just expanded to inlcude a new hard drive - I'm out of memory! :o
Jane,
Just to let you know Western Digital and Seagate are among the top rated EHD. There are a few others but these are just 2 that were rated better for less failures and other issues. I have only had experience with western and their replacement of my newly dead EHD was so effortless. I'm rather impressed on how easy it was. Plus there are many size drives out now that you can get really cheap.

Thanks Jen - I'm wishing now that I would have looked at my remaining space yesterday, then I could have picked up one of the great black friday specials.
Jane, don't worry because the price of memory just keeps falling. I used to look a 1TB a few months ago an think, no way would I every get that. The cost was almost $500, now I see it on sale for $199 so you will come across a deal in the next little while. I don't know how much memory you have on your puter now but I believe that you shouldn't go less than 320gb. Plus, carbonite will be able to back up EHD soon so maybe even a 500gb EHD would be in order. THat can hold so many photos....it will make you take more because you will have the room.
