I hope I posted this in the correct spot. This poster (11 x 14) will be a gift from a co-worker of mine to her husband - the coach of this team. He was named the area coach of the year for the second year in a row - some of you may have seen the Sports Illustrated cover I made for her to give him last year. Anyway - please look it over and let me know if there is anything I need to do to improve it. I have looked at it too long and my eyes are starting to cross. (The coach had successful cancer surgery the day after the season ended - incision in his neck/throat, which is why the team named the season "Cut Throat"). Thanks in advance.

Linda, I think it's great.
Your friend will be proud to give that to her husband!

Just for fun, you might want to try making Deerfield High School just a little bit lighter in color (brighter, not "lighter" as in dim). I would duplicate that layer and change the text color. Then, if you don't think it's any better, easy enough to delete and revert to the original.

Great job,
Rusty

Thanks for the idea, Rusty. That was the kind of critique I was looking for. I'll give it a try later tonight. For some reason I always forget to duplicate layers and try those blend modes.

I kind of thought that part was dark as well but I tend to not comment on things like that unless it is so dark that I can barely see it. My laptop monitor tends to make things darker than they are, especially reds.

Hi Linda,
Great layout and very inspirational. A few things... I agree with Rusty on the school name on the side...perhaps using the same red as the coach's jacket...
also, uniform the framing of all the images...it looks like you have 3 different frame styles going on. I do like the one you use for the runner and coach. also, the caption on the lower right of the poster noting the 7 players. make it a tad bit smaller, it seems to stand out a bit to much..I would make it the same the font size as the "Triple crown" caption.

Great job Linda!!
