Fort Richardson, TexasIn 1872, it was listed as the largest U.S. Army installation in the United States, with a population of 666 officers and men.
This is the post hospital, which is open to visitors. There are many interesting exhibits.

I think the hospital is in remarkable condition & is a beautiful structure, considering that it was the hospital. I will be posting more photos of other structures: the officers' quarters (Commanding Officer); powder magazine; morgue; commissary; guardhouse; and a bakery, which baked 600 loaves per day.
