Let's share our photos of landmarks, historical sights, and anything else that's in that general category. They may be from trips you've taken or from your hometown. It could be something man-made or natural... antique or just plain old - it's up to your interpretation.
I'll start us off with a Calgary landmark, the Calgary tower.

This is the monument commemorating the site of the Meadow Mountain Massacre. It is north and west from
St.George,Utah. A feature film was made about this horrific event starring Jon Voight. The name of the film is September Dawn.

For those of you, like me, who didn't know about the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre: here's the description of the movie.
This tragic tale juxtaposes a fictional love story and a fact-based account of the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre, an act of religious fanaticism that claimed the lives of as many as 120 westward-bound settlers -- men, women and children. After the wagon train from Arkansas arrives in Cedar City, Utah, paranoia leads a band of Mormon militiamen to conspire the slaughter.

Chas & Russ - interesting history. Nice photos.
My favorite trip of all time was to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. One of the most interesting facts about the area is how many little earthquakes take place on a daily basis. However, I didn't feel any while I was there --- thank goodness!
This statue is at the Jackson Visitors Center near Teton National Park, south of Yellowstone.
