Notice the code that the user must enter, that is very important to keep out the spammers automated systems.

I guess i am kinda dumb in these things. But in the security section of my gallery i dont see that type of number code. The following is my options. I clicked on hidden,but dont know if that is what i should do. If i do protected and type in Q and A will the forum members still be able to view it. Please help i do not want spam.

I see the example of a bogus website, but I don't understand where it's supposed to be placed. What does it do?

When I registered for this site I supplied my email address as requested (and as is common for all such sites I have seen). Are you telling me that slurp sliders, bots, whatever... all have access to that registration information?

My previous post i was questioning how i handle the security on my prestophoto gallery. That is the only place that i actually registered. If there is something i am missing for security on the forum i would like to know that also. I hope someone understands this.

I believe that the org. post was directed and Christian and myself. Some sites require you to enter a code word when you register - it isn't visible to bots, so it keeps down spam.

Here's a link specific to phpbb (the bulletin board package used here - it's one of the more popular ones, so, of course, it's weaknesses are targeted & exploited easily)
