I have pse6. When I try to add text to anything it only types in uppercase!
How do I get lowercase?

Hello, Liberty, welcome to this forum. Lot of friendly people here will try to help you.

Turning off "Caps-Lock" is too obvious; I'm sure you have tried that. Less obvious is what font have you selected? There are a few, "Lithograph" comes to mind, that are always in caps regardless of whether you are trying for caps or not.

Have you tried with a font such as Ariel or Times New Roman? Are you getting all caps with those two as well? If so, did you click the "reset tool" button?

Try resetting the preferences.
Close down Elements then click on the Editor start up icon and quickly hold down the Control, Alt and Shift keys (Mac users: Command, Option and Shift). Continue to hold down all three keys until you get a screen asking if you want to delete Settings ... just say Yes. You do have to be quick holding down the keys so if you have problems with it try holding down the keys with one hand before you click on the icon
