For a fun project I tried to make a mat with cut outs.

It looks okay, but not as good as I had hoped for.

In case anyone wants to play with it, the link to the psd file is below.

I hope the link works.

Ruus love the template. have to wait to download. My computer is broke. Windows wont load windows root system32....corrupt. Gotta take it in to the shop. Not a priority now. I am on another comp. right now but i may be not be on much until i can get it fixed.
Nice Russ, just let me know if you want to create one for the Tuesday Template tag. It would be fun to try.

Just downloaded yours. On your size make a new document 12 in. x 12 in. at 300 ppi. to start it off. That is the scrapbook page size.

PhotoSHOP, PhotoSHOP till' you drop...

PSE7 & PSE8.....Nikon D60, D200 & D300
Nice template..... a couple of suggestions, though:

1. The Image Mode should be RGB (it's in Grayscale) - otherwise when you put your images in they have to turn Grayscale as well.

2. Have you thought about adding Drop Shadows to the template itself at some stage? It helps to give a realistic 'matting' kind of look. The Shadows will fall inside the 'spaces' (if you wanted shadows around the whole template you'd need to add some canvas).

3. A little texture over the template might come in handy, something 'fuzzy' rather than rough.
PSE6 on WinXP, Pentax K10d...... and now a Canon G10.

Geoff: thanks for the tips. I will open that file ASAP and give your suggestions a try.
Geoff: Thanks for the tips. I followed your suggestions and love the results.

To see the new page open the link below. I need to go back and reduce the drop shadow a bit.

Open the link below to see the change that came with a smaller drop shadow setting.
