I found this little baby Robin today upside down in my Hosta plants. The mother was very excited and she kept flying around and making all kinds of noise. When I reached in for the little bird she came at me with a vengence! She wanted to peck my ever loving eyes out! I dodged and ducked but manged to set the little guy in the grass and he sat there for the better part of an hour as mother was just throwing a fit. He did eventually fly off with the coaxing from mom. Baby birds are so cute!

Upside down? Silly bird. Nice photo!

When I was photographing red winged black bird nests the male birds would swoop down on me and hover overhead, protesting and harassing loudly, but never actually coming in contact. I had my camera on a monopod and would occasionally hold it above my head as a decoy. I thought about wearing my bike helmet because I'd heard of falcons attacking heads. Luckily for me the black birds' bark was worse than their bite.
