Before, After and Help

So far I am pleased with the processing of this photo of my daughter. But, I unfortunately held my point-and shoot with the flash at bottom, thus creating an unnecessary shadow on top. How can I safely remove the shadow?
A friend suggests that I use the Blur Tool to fade the shadow out. But she has CS. I have PSE 6. How would I use the Blur Tool to fade out the shadow in PSE? Or, is there another, better, delicate way to eliminate it in PSE?

Hi Gordon
Nice high-key portrait. As far as lightening the shadow, I would use either the clone stamp or paint in the same color as the wall. Do either on a transparent layer above the image. Set the layer to lighten & use a soft brush set to about 60 or 70% opacity & build up density. last use a slight guasian blur on the layer to even out the paint. If you are not using a mask, you can always erase the paint where needed; also, lower opacity of the painted layer.
Hope this info helps.

I used the Clone Stamp, and the revision came out reasonably well. However, as is often the case with revisions, I prefer the original. It has more spontaneity and is a truer representation of the art attempted. Here is my revision:

Thanks again.
