I'm looking for any suggestions on where to purchase studio/indoor backgrounds/drops? Or what others use?
Thanks!

Well if you don't want super fancy - some of the party supply places have backdrops that look pretty decent.

I've never purchased from these folks - but they certianly have a big selection of props and backdrops:

http://www.skaeser.com $$

I bookmarked them a long time ago when I was considering things to do with the building we were living in while our house was being built. But all the extra money went to the house... :|
I have several nice muslins I got on eBay. Denny Manufacturing has some really nice ones. I know some on the other forum had this discussion once too and some said they used nice heavy cotton bed sheets. Another option is to go to a fabric store and bu muslin the size you want and dye it yourself.

This site that I listed - http://www.skaeser.com - has some fairly decent prices for studio lighting set ups.

For what I spend getting my kids pictures done I keep thinking I could buy backgrounds and lighting and it would pay for itself in just a couple of years. Of course thats before I factor in the cost of a DSLR - although those have certainly been dropping in price lately. Might have to do the math again and see how long it would take me to break even. :)

Check out these package deals: http://www.skaeser.com/servlet/Detail?no=281 and http://www.skaeser.com/servlet/Detail?no=370

Steve Kaesar also puts his stuff on eBay. You can get some really get set ups on eBay at really good prices. I just got a nice lighting set for the guy I do sports team pictures for on ebay for I think $79 with shipping. Brand new set up with bag. I'll check and see if the ebay seller still has some. It is a real store too. If he does I will post back with a link.

Jane, I still have my Canon Digital Rebel 300D that I am going to be listing on eBay this weekend. You have seen my pictures so you know how well it takes photos.
