...with my new D40!!!

Here are two images OOC except for resizing:

I am still on Auto, but haven't yet had time to study it. Too much to do and too jetlagged. But I love it!

I ended up buying the Slingshot 100, which I think is enough for me while on the go. I still have room for a flash or something, plus room for a wallet and keys. I will either use my old shoulder bag for shooting outings or buy a new one.

Thanks to everyone who helped me decide what to get!!! :thanks:

Great shots. I'm so excited for you. I'll have to go look at the Slingshot. Have you been to Target yet? That's usually the first store my daughter hits after she gets to the States....even if she doesn't buy anything. Great to hear from you. I hope you have a wonderful trip.

All Right, Reka!

It was worth the wait, wasn't it? Learning about the camera will be hugely enjoyable and you'll love it even more once you know more about it.

The two shots you posted are great.

We may not see much of you around here for a while.

Enjoy,
Steve

Beautiful pictures. Your daughter especially. What's a Slingshot bag or better question: where'd you get it. I need something, also. -L
Not sure if the Slingshot is a LowePro bag or not - but I love the strap I got from them, and as soon as I can afford it I plan to get one of their bags. ( I just spent all extra funds on buying a couple of cows and 3 acres worth of fencing! Steel prices sure have gone up!!!) I have my eye on the Fastback 200.

ETA - yup a Slingshot is a Lowepro bag. Looks like a good one.
I bought my D40 last summer. Had a Nikon film camera before that. You will like it even more as you get used to it and learn all the nifty things it can do. Congratulations!
