ok, our class starts Monday. :woohoo:
The JS forum is open and there is a welcome letter to be read under "my classes".

I am going to start this thread so others can follow our 6 week journey and maybe take the class next time.

Our first lesson is about shutter speeds. I won't show you my slow speed that was supposed to be blurry so we would see the difference. (It was)

Here is my fast shutter speed image.
Everything done using manual, even the focus.
F9, 2500, ISO 800, RAW

my set up was outside on the picnic table. A black t-shirt for a backdrop and a old shampoo bottle filled with water in my left hand. It would have worked better with a helper.

good job, Kimi.

Here is my shutter speed one

Mine wasn't all that great - Image.

I really think I took better pictures with my Sony......I'm having some sharpness issues, and I'm quite sure it's operator error.

I think both of your images capture a fast shutter speed very well.
Sunny, I thought of you after watching here video. Did you find it helpful?

I thought it was well done........it's nice to see who your teacher is. I LOVE the fact that she uses a tripod...I like my shots much better when I use one. I liked seeing the examples. She seems very down to earth, too, and I like that. Maybe it was a little too basic for you and Suzi, who have both been using DSLRs for quite a while, but it was just fine for old beginner me. :bigwink:

PS - thanks for checking out my shots.

That and she is using a Canon. The first thing I thought of was you.
