Hi Michael:
Well let me tell you I have evrything under control but there is always room for improvement. That is why I'am always trying diferent things. Well I was doing good with the Epson canned ICC profiles but I desided to move a step further and in to the intricates alleys of color management. So I ordered this book and the Frazer book that is consider by many the authority on the subject. After reading Color Confidence I began reading Frazer book in color management and was delighted to realized that Color Confidence game me the foundation to go in to Frazer book that is much more technical. I have a good foundation on color theory from collage but this book gave me a good refreshing course. I now will suggest this book to any person seeking to learn color management in layman terms.
I then contacted Cathy at cathysprofiles.com and she provided me with all the instructions I needed to make my own profiles including the targets after I printed the targets for each paper I use I mail them to her she then emailed me the profiles. I installed them and bingo, the diference is fantastic. So now I can produce much better quality images constantly and save dinero on paper and ink thanks to Cathys. The best part of this whole thing is the price $35.00 per profile.
My hardware is a 24" Dell monitor and my printer is an Epson 7800 24" I use Spider 2 Pro to calibrate my monitor. I was using Epson ICC profiles I adjusted my images here and there to match monitor. Not any more I now set my images the way I want them send them to print and Bingo!!!, What you see is what you get. I also invested on a set of Solux 5000k lights to analize my prints. You can buy them at
http://www.solux.net If I was happy with my setup before now I'am tripping,
Hope this help to clarify amigo.
