Here is what I did. I held a green card stock behind the dandelion. The green paper was kind of a varigated green and white not a solid color and took the shot.
Then I used this technique posted by Westiemom/ Anita:

Duplicate the layer

Run high pass filter (filter, other, high pass) about 3

Set blend mode to hard light.

Combine layers (shift/Ctrl/Alt/E)

Filter>stylize>diffuse>Anisotropic. ( I usually do this step 2 or three times to get a liquidy, smooth painted look.)

Unsharp Mask 150/.3/0

Smart Blur 3/12/high

You can also increase the contrast if need be.

O.K., but don't have any in stock, and like Rusty, it will be at least a 4-6 weeks before things thaw out here and dandelions get growing!

Down here we have more of a thistle than a dandelion. No tap root, just a series of spreader roots. They bloom about the same and propagate the same. We are already pulling them out of the ground, if we see them.

Are y ou looking for a dandelion picture that you can work on? or are you on a quest to find one for yourself? After reading the posts again not quite sure what you are looking for? Our dandelions are will not start blooming for a long while here in Wisconsin.

Tina - I think it has to be her picture, I am betting it is for a garden/flower show she mentioned in a different thread....
Kimi, it may be overused, but when you do get dandelions, see what a child will do with the flower.
(see my post in this week's Make Art Monday).

Children always enjoy blowing the white seeds. I'm thinking of a low angle, in close and a fast shutter.

yes I want to shoot my own image.
and yes I want someone to blow and have a fast shutter speed. I also want one looking up at the sky.
I have been scowering the internet for images to copy.

I just sent 3 images to print so I can choose one to turn in for the flower show.
Not sure any of them are that great?
