I spent the day taking Senior pics for a set of twin girls. Had to stop the car when I saw a dandelion on the side of the road. Did they think I was crazy... you bet!
I am disappointed, my aperture was too low. At least now I know where some are until they cut their grass. I will give it a couple of days and go back. So here is my first try...
For a shot like that I will use a tripod so I can get a much smaller aperture and, hopefully, as much as possible tack sharp. In your case, however, I think the result is great. It's sorta magical with the slightly fuzzy outline around the sharp center.
I never would have thought of attempting to get your result on purpose -- it's wonderful.

PS - 'course, some of my best shots were happy accidents

I only had time to jump out of the car and cross the street to take the shot in a ditch. I had 3 girls in the car waiting for me. I picked 2 to bring home but they didn't make the trip very good. At least I let the seeds loose in my yard.
I like the shot, although I have been waiting expectantly for one of your "blow us out of the water with blend modes and textures" shots. I think it is nice. Dandelions are hard to capture. Can't wait to see the next round. And now you can dandelion tea because you will have your own in your yard.
