You all know I do a lot of "church stuff" which includes available light shooting during services. For that I have been using my 50mm because that's my fastest lens (f/1.8). I can't move around (zoom with my feet) and DW knows I have been lusting after a fast, short zoom. Well, she really surprised me for Father's Day.
This is not an available light shot. I took this today at a church gig involving little kids. I just love how sharp this lens is. Using a speedlight with diffuser, 1/60th, f/2.8 -- this is a 100% crop of a small part.
The lens is a Tamron, 28-75mm, constant f/2.8. Nikon makes the same size lens; it's about $1,600. No surprise that I bought a Tamron.
I can't wait for my next opportunity to do available light shooting.
