Spicebush Swallowtail

I was at our local botanical gardens working on recording seed trial beds. I notice something floating around and as it landed I saw this Spicebush Swallow tail. The yellow swallowtails are abundant this year but I have never seen a black one before.

What a great capture!! Beautiful butterfly, I don't believe I've ever seen one like that.

What a great photo, Tina. I see some of the black ones at my butterfly bush but I've never seen a brown one.
