Rusty, I really like your architecture picture using this technique. I don't have any shots like that though, but I got a few that I think turned out well. You don't get extreme results in photos with a lot of snow, incidentally. I had to duplicate the layer and repeat the filter 7 or more times for that shot.

I was surprised at your first one, the two or three that I tried with "big sky" looked pretty lame when the filter was applied. I was concluding that I needed a relatively small light source but your post clearly show that not to be the case.
