Seamless patterns using offset

Have you ever created a pattern & it doesn't look good. Maybe it needs to be seamless, rather than blocky.
This is helpful for texture patterns.

Well, now that's pretty slick, Betty.
More important, I learned about something I had never thought about before --- the "offset option" under Filter > Other.

I just grabbed an image to play with and created this square texture...

I look at the APOD website every day and often save the sky-shot for possible future use.

That tutorial talked about Photoshop; it works exactly as described in Elements.
