I may have to get our IT department to find out how to get rid of that little nuisance....

Nope, I already had that one unchecked.
Okay, did some more research. Adobe Photo Downloader is a little 'gift' from Lightroom. To remove it from the system requires some registry changes and other stuff that I don't want to touch. However, to remove it from the startup tray, the following steps work (just tried it):

1. Go to Start>Run and type in msconfig and click OK.
2. Pick the Startup Tab.
3. Find the startup item called apdproxy.exe; uncheck it.
4. Click OK and choose Restart if you're ready to make it happen.
5. When the system restarts, a dialog box will come up saying something about you've made a system configuration change. Put a check mark in the box and click on OK.
6. When restart is complete, the obnoxious little icon should be gone.

Be careful, but it should take care of the problem.

Thanks Chuck, I will do that. Config sys and I are real good friends, then in there alot over the years.
Suzib, that's good to hear. I always hesitate to offer suggestions that involve fooling with Mother Microsoft..... :o

messing with that is not a problem for me. There was a time when I was in there every day doing one thing or another. Now CS3 or LR that is another question, lol
