I thought I'd give these a try in ACR. The first, just some exposure, vibrance and a preset for the sky.
Your cute dog was a New Mexico Road preset. I wish I could get Misty to pose like that.

used a B/W preset, cheated just alittle in CS3

used prest called deviant2, then painted the color in myself, all done in LR
