For those that have finally seen the light!

Finally got to play. I discovered that if you make some virtual copies and apply different setting or presets, you can import them as layers in CS3. So on this one I did 3 different versions of a B/W imported in CS3 as layers and changed the blend modes on the layers. Did cheat a touch, did alittle masking.

This image illustrates perfectly the difference of the new ACR 4.5 presets.

Much more vivid colors and the histogram looks much better.

Suzi,

Now that is a high contrast B&W!

Michel,

Good point on the Camera Calibration/Profile feature now available. I have also downloaded the Adobe DNG Profile Editor and customized a few of my own profiles. Kind of tough sledding but interesting results.

Thnaks, John. Went a little overboard but wanted to test out the layering thing. It is pretty fun to see what you can get from doing several virtual copies and then layering them.
I am really liking this opening as layers in CS3. made 2 virtual copies, used HDR6 on one and night grotto 11 on the other. took into cs3 as layers and used the luminosity blend

I am so far behind on all these challenges. The last 2 weeks have been the worst.
All done in LR..converted to B/W then did split-toning.
