This has been driving me crazy. I finally managed to get the three links to the three photos I uploaded. Sorry for being so late. This is something I definitely need to figure out.

I'm sorry you had trouble, Anita, but it looks as if you figured it out. I'm downloading now.

Main treatment was Golden Girl preset


(Messed up and deleted RAW file with history rather than .psd file, so no history on this one)

I used the Funky Twist preset on this one, and a levels adjustment

Matt's Nostalgic 1 Preset
and a slight sharpen


I used the Dream preset on this one and shapened

I had to use drastic adjustments for the first one to tweak it to my taste. No other adjustments in PSE6.


By the way, I was surprised at the size of the raw files (25 Mb, mine are only 7-9 Mb). With this computer my RAM does not enable me to open in 16 bits, and it is slow... that the price for the high quality of the 50D.

Having trouble playing!

I have Lr 2 and CS3. I did the CS3 update to get the new Camera Raw 4.6 that supports the 50D camera and can open and play with the images in CS3 - but not in Lr.

Has anyone accessed these in Lr 2 and if so, what did you do to tweak it?

My research seems to say that they share the same camera raw processor, but apparently not!

John - I used Lightroom 2 (2.1, actually) to work on these, and I didn't have to do anything special other than import them. Where are you hanging up? Can you not even get them imported? If you haven't already, maybe you should go download 2.1.

I am using Lr 2(.0) and the about Lr plate indicates Lr 4.5, not 4.6 for camera raw.

I hang up right at the point where I am importing, but it looks like the documentation has it wrong.

I am heading off to Adobe to check out 2.1 (although when I do a check for updates it says there aren't any.

Ahh, Lr 2.1 is a beta product from the labs.

Glad to know this works, because I have been thinking of getting the 50D, in fact I am off the the local camera store to check it out today, or maybe the new 17-200 lens.
