Great pictures, Michel. On this one I played with WB, temp and all the other sliders. Cropped and sharpened in photoshop

Michel,

WOW, nice shots.

My first I reduced to greyscale, then did a little split toning on the result. Used the spot removal tool to get rid of the highlight on the cheek.

Grayscale, then a little split toning.

Thanks for playing. I love those places where you are allowed to take photos of masterpieces. No flash, of course, and no tripod... I can understand that, with many groups queuing through the noble appartments, but the tripod would be the best accessory for great photography. As you can see, we were alone in the library, and I had to push to 1600 ISO.
Suzi, you got the mood of the 'Singerie', a small room completely decorated with allegories with monkeys.
Sunny and Shari, excellent use of ACR, I wish more Elements users would try to use it creatively.
John, I don't think there is a spot removal tool in LR, do you use its local adjustment tools? I suppose split toning is made in CS with gradients?

Michel,

In CS2/3 version of ACR as well as in Lr, there is a spot removal function enabled. Designed for spot removal, it also works perfectly for this type "fix". You get to set the target area, size and donor area where it will blend in a fixup.

The split toning is also accessible from the additional tabs available in CS2/3 and Lr. You get to select the tone and saturation level for highlights and shadows.

Some claim that with the full range of tools available in ACR/Lr, the isn't much need for additional editing in Photoshop - for me I find I still like to get more control over the local adjustments available in the editor.

On another topic, one of the things I like to play with is the white balance just to see what the effect is on the image - sometimes ugly, some times a neat effect. In your pics, the statue really works with this - here is an example or two.
