This is the method that I always use.

Graffi had one called burnt corners..contact him and see is he still has it


Hi, guys - Burnt Corners is in the B&W Lab pack -

it basically makes a selection of the central part of your image, inverses the selection, creates a new layer & fills the active selection with black. Next, it changes the blend mode of the new layer to Multiply and reduces opacity to about 60%. To add some versatility & strength to the effect, it simply dupllicates the new again - cheers!
