Photoshop Creative

I've been reading (not a good thing) about brushes. First off, let me say that I have PSE5.0.

Anyway, in my reading, I keep coming across changing the mode to mask. I've checked my Elements and my brushes don't have that option (or maybe my eyes are tired from reading). The modes I have are the blending modes and depending on which brush will determine which of those that I might have.

So where in the world is the Mask?

And I haven't looked at CS3 ... yet, not home to look.

Maybe they were talking about the selection brush? It has a selection or a mask mode.

Hmmm, you may be right, so now my question is, where is the selection brush? As much as I use brushes, sometimes, I'll read something and go, mmmm, don't recall that. Seems to be happening more often than not.
