How do you use a mask with PSE5 .. and how do you use an over overlay to make textured paper?

Thanks

Donna, if you haven't installed either Graffi's handy actions or Grant's tool. Here is a screenshot of how to hijack a layer mask. You would paint with black on the white layer mask, paint with white to fix any mistakes. I hope this is what you wanted to know. So glad to see you back. :cheer2: :cheer2:
I am not understanding your second question....being a little dense today, that's me.

We had a homework assignment that had a great video showing how to use a mask. I am not sure which one it was. Just check back a couple. :P

Hey Donna - Here is the link Kimi was referring to. Watch the video - it's great and should answer any of your mask questions.

I'll try to help with the overlay question.

New layer, fill with paper or solid color. Drag the overlay file onto the background. Right under the layer tab you'll see a drop down box....choose overlay. Then you can go to the opacity and adjust that until you are happy with the result.
