None of the "Source" books cover this. Probably because it's too basic. What are the steps to create an Avatar? Thanks in Advance. Ed Weidman :?:

The size limits for this forum are larger than most
100x100 - with a 16kb files size limit.

In elements - open the image you want to use and crop and touch up as you see fit.

FILE > click on "save for web" this will open up a new window

On the right hand side of the new window is a menu - go to "new size" (about half way down the page) and change the image paramaters so that no side is longer than 100 pixels. Click "apply" and then look at the bottom of the right preview window to see what pixel size you image is now and if it is less than 16kb then you are good to go.

Click "ok" in the top right corner and complete the saving process.
Thanks Jane for the help, and of course for all of your efforts in saving the Forum. :!: :D

Hi Wags, re avatars there must be something i'm missing here, once the image is saved
what is the procedure for putting it into your message, thanks in anticipation for your
patience
Norm
On the left side of the screen below the header is the "User Control Panel" click on that, then click on the "Profile" tab and choose "Edit Avatar" from the menu on the left.

From there you will have a screen to upload your avatar.
Is my bluebird allowed to "flap" here, or should I keep it still?

I think you can graduate from being a bluebird to now soaring....
It can be a flapper if you want.
Let the bird flap it will help move the hot air around here.!!

I have been trying follow the directions to add an avatar, and
just seem to be getting nothing....
It's the little moments that make life big.
