Database in PSE5 not rebuilding

Nothing is showing up in the actions that I have installed in PSE5. Shutterfreaks used to show up in the special effects area under the edit screen and now poof........gone but still listed in the special effects section when I look under the software on my C drive. Hope this makes sense, I can see it in the directory thru windows explorer but not when I open the software. The only thing I have done is install PSE6. Any thought on why no rebuild now????

Have you tried resetting your preferences, that might help.

Jen,
Did you try holding the Shift key when starting the Editor?

definitely do what Juergen said - and leave preferences alone! (That's a last-ditch method - Try that just before reinstalling Elements for only the most stubborn of issues)

In PSE 5, simply hold the Shift key when you see the white Adobe splash screen and keep holding it until you see a bilding artwork & effects progress bar. When it completes - *presto!* - all your stuff is put away neatly!
