I posted this photo in the Members Gallery and thought I would post it here also and attempt to explain what I did. Several months ago I downloaded a program called "Light Artist" and that is what I used and then ortanized it. I was attempting to make it appear like a moonlit night but maybe have it too dark.

What is this Light Artist? I like the effect only a little lighter.
The original is beautiful, Garry,
Stunning.

So nice, it would never have occurred to me to mess with it!
Your transformation is interesting. And, I'm not saying "interesting" because I don't want to say anything bad :D I like the transformation, it's interesting and quite nice. Like Suzi, I wonder what just a little bit lighter would look like.

I'm not sure how to do it, but I also wonder what a less orange light would look like. Sort of a silvery moonlight. I think red spectrum lights are usually associated with early morning or late afternoon sunlight.

Both are very nice.

Suzib---If you Google Light Artist you can find the site to download this program and it is free.

Rusty---Thank you for your comments. I will try to redo this using your suggestions. I am just learning about light and different settings.

If you were after moonlight, I think you got it.

Red has the longest wavelength of any color; orange is next. Blue, indigo and violet have the shortest. Yellow and green fall in the middle. Long wavelength light penetrates objects better than short because the latter are absorbed/scattered by dust/water molecules in the atmosphere. If the sun (or moon for that matter) is low on the horizon the light has to pass thru a lot more atmosphere to get to where you are. That's why sunrise and sunset has such a pronounced red/orange cast.

Your first effort was a home run if you want to tell people it was early morning with the rising sun just catching the roof of the mill :D Your second version looks like pretty darned good moonlight to me :D

I like all three!

It is beautiful, Garry. I like it so much with the added light.
Rusty---Thank you so much for your lesson on natural lighting. I will remember that the next time I attempt to show moonlight or sunlight. I have copied your instructions and will keep them close.

Suzib---I think it looks better also. Thanks for your constructive comment, it was appreciated very much.
