After seeing anita's beautiful "Porcelain Portrait", I had to try it. I chose a pic taken by my daughter at my great grandaughter's, Marissa's, birthday. I selected Marissa with a large feather (kind of gets me started) and then followed the porcelain tut. I reduced opacity on the porcelain layer to bring back a hint of color (see the lace on her dress). Just had to do a bit of embellishment for background and frame colors. This will take some practice, but it is a lot of fun.

This too shall pass. Is that so? Maybe.

Gail, you have done a great job on the porcelain effect. However, the border color is quite bold and I find it very distracting from Marissa. Maybe tone it down to a soft pastel color.

Thanks, Kim. It is pretty strong for the effect. I'll go back and work it. I saved a version in psd so corrections are possible.

Very nice, Gail. I was thinking you might want to fade it out to a very, very light pink, almost white. Just a thought. She sure is a cute one. :)

Thanks, Sunny. Appreciate the input. I agree. Next round I won't be so "ostentatious" with the color. With this effect I'm learning "less is better".
