Well, Sue,
I don't know about "best with objects" -- that sure looks pretty good to me.
I have to wonder what it would look like if you dropped the cut out back on top of the original image? And, as a variation, drop the opacity a bit on the original-image layer? Just some rambling thoughts.

I think you have to try different things then you can see if the advice given holds true.
