Playing with Blend Mode to Replace Sky

Liked the shot, not the stuff so . . .

Added cloud layer. changed blend mode to darken, added a layer mask to smooth the cloud.tree transition.

Added a saturation layer (two actually) and used layer masks to tweak selected layers.

Left to water reflection alone.

Will post the final to my Rifle Road gallery.

Nice job, John,

Probably like most others, replacing a nothing sky was one of the first things I wanted to learn how to do with Elements. And, probably like most others, I thought first of pretty blue with fluffy white clouds. I have now tried to add more gray sky with character to my "sky file".

This image is a perfect example of what I hope to accomplish more of.
