I was down at the lakefront a few days ago; found a scavenger with a metal detector.
This was what I started with...

This is what I did with it...

I used USM with a setting of 500, 0.3, 0 to gave an illusion of film grain with the added benefit of picking up some detail in the breaking waves.

I like what you did with this pix. Great composition and treatment.
Great job, i would like to be on that beach with a detector also.
He actually found something while I was there; maybe as much as a quarter 8-)

If you look closely, you'll see he's "ready". That's a stick in his back pocket - for digging in the sand. He has knee pads as well.

aww shucks a quarter.... maybe its a reeal old one. I do enjoy metal detecting i dont get to do it often but it is fun. I get excercise and sun 2 things i get little of.
Nice shots and transformation Rusty. I think changing to b&w makes him look even colder.
