A reminder.... this is not really homework. (it is just called homework) These exercises are open to everyone. Hope to see lots of entries!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Orton Effect!
Duplicate your image twice. Ctrl J
Change the top layers blend mode to screen.
Merge your screen layer down. Ctrl E
Duplicate your new image Ctrl J
On your new top layer Go to Filters, Blur, Gas Blur. (20 to 30) Use enough that the shapes are still visible but the details are gone. Don't be afraid to blur.
Now change the blend mode on that layer to multiply.
Done!
EDIT: Ctrl, Shift, Alt, E to combine your layers into one new image. Now do a levels adjustments.
That was my quick break down. Here is the link with the instructions and screen shots.
Did the Orton, but my image was still too dark and needed some background blur, so I did a serious g-blur and masked my little fairy back in, then added a lighting effect.
Have a blessed day today & always
Kimi,
I am a little worried about you. Did you get any resolution to your problem? It worries me too, because my external drive is a Western Digital. I moved some pictures of my granddaughter to a CD this afternoon.
Oh Amanda... what a sweetheart! Perfect!
Christell, the rose is lovely. If you find you are not seeing the effect it is usually because you are not blurring enough.
Clara... I love how using the multiply mode made all of your colors so vibrant. Very Nice!
I may just have to find a free image to give it another try. And no... I am not any better. :oops:
