During the 'clouds' photo theme a few weeks back the comments went off on a tangent of Joni Mitchell song lyrics. I think it was Byron's fault. The suggestion was made by Zeria that Joni Mitchell song lyrics would make a pretty good theme by itself.

I'll open it up a bit to accomodate all musical tastes ... the theme this week is song lyrics. Please be sure to mention the lyrics your entry refers to. Yellow Submarine of course inspired the starter image.

Now I'm off to find some plasticine porters with looking glass eyes.

Bill

The fine print:

Everyone is invited to participate.
Because the purpose of the weekly theme is to get us more familiar with our cameras and to sharpen our photographic skills, entries should be taken during the week of the theme.
Photoshopping is allowed.
Be creative and have fun!
Bill, I can't believe you did this one, I was actually going to see if anyone would be interested in doing a challenge like this...I am going to be posting a lot on this one I think!!!!

Photo taken last night when DH and I had a night on the town in downtown Nashville. The photo above is of The Ryman Auditorium, where the Grand Ole Opry use to be broadcast from. This is where Elvis had his one and only performance from, Minnie Pearl wearing her flower hat with the price tag dangling singing out Howdeeeee to everyone and of course, you can't forget when Hank Williams graced the stage.

Now, only a few times a year do they broadcast the Opry from the Ryman, as they use the Grand Ole Opry House at Opry Mills for it's broadcasts.

Grand 'Ole Opry Song by The Nitty Gritty Dirty Band
Come and listen to my story if you will i'm gonna tell
About a gang of fellers from down at nashville
First i'll start with old red foley doin' the "chattanooga shoe"
We can't forget Hank Williams with them good old "lovesick blues"

It's time for Roy Acuff to go to Memphis on his train
With Minnie Pearl and Rod Brasfield and lazy Jim Day
Turn on all your radios i know that you will wait
Hear little Jimmy Dickens sing "take an old cold tater and wait"

There'll be guitars and fiddles, Earl Scruggs and his banjo too
Bill Monroe singing 'em the "Honky Tonky Blues"
Ernest Tubb's number "two wrongs won't make a right"
At the Grand Ole Opry ev'ry Saturday night

I don't know if any of you who look at these click on the lyrics link but I hope you do on this one. Have a picture of your children, grandchildren or close your eyes and visulize a loved child and listen to the words. I hope this song moves you as much as it always does me.

Hi people,
Bill, your mention of Joni Mitchell awakened my psychojukebox and I can't get "Raised on Robbery" out of my head. I haven't been able to think of a way to illustrate any of the lyrics (at least not in a "Family" setting like PCEC :D ) so I moved on to Bob Dylan:

Maybe I'll keep trying on Joni..."he was drinking for diversion, he was thinking for himself..." has always resonated with me.

Diverted, thoughtfully,
Steve
