This Challenge is open to EVERYONE (members and non-members) who is reading the forum.
Please feel free to add your image.

Remember, if you see an image that you like, please leave a comment for your fellow doodler. Everyone likes a pat on the back.

There is no right or wrong process here. Just Jump in and Have Fun!!
-------------------------------

Challenge: Doodling (really just another way to sketch).

1. Open your image.
2. Duplicate the background layer (Right click on the background layer and choose duplicate or CTRL J)) and name that layer Smart Blur.
3. Go to Filter -> Blur->Smart Blur (I used a Radius 28.2, Threshold 40.3, Quality Low and Mode was set to Edge Only). Just a note, the Radius and Threshold setting are not hard and fast, a lot would depend on you picture.
4. Convert to Black Line on White background (Ctrl I)
This would be a really good time to remove parts of the picture. Since we are doodling, we want a simple drawing.
5. Set you background colour to white and pick a Hard Round Brush removing parts of the picture
6. Duplicate this layer three times.
7. Rename the top layer to Blur 1 (Artistic->Cutout (Number of Levels 5, Edge Simplicity 6, and Edge Fidelity 1)). Filter ->Motion Blur (Angle -47 and Distance 150)
8. Click on the second one (right below Blur 1) and rename that layer to Blur 2 and move it to the top. Repeat step 7. The only change will be on the Motion Blur Angle and that will be 47. Next change the Blending Mode to Multiple and lower the Opacity to 54%.
9. The third layer down, rename to doodle and move to the top. Change the Blending Mode to Multiple and lower the Opacity somewhere in the 30-35% range. Now you have a nice sketch and you can stop here if you like. Turn the layer visibility off on the bottom two (click on the eye icon on the layer).

This is all you have to do to create what I call doodling. As with most doodling it is done on paper. Remember to have fun.

Here is the picture that I used before:

Do you need to put it on paper ... NO, you could texture it. It is up to you.

If you wanted to add color to picture(s) :chickendance: , think what colors do Highlighters come in? All that I could find were yellow, blue, green and pink. With that in mind, here are a couple more, but in color.

Thank you, Dane. Took forever to find a free easel image that was fairly hi res. Wanted a bigger one but this was all I could find. The hand was easy. Will do a regular one later. This is a fun one, thank you
This is about the 5th picture I tried this on....first one to look half way decent. :cheer2:
