I am going to post directions for saving as a brush in the comment thread. I also ask that this week we try and post our comments and questions there. This thread should be just images.

You are to go and find a an abstract art image on the net. (Google Art)
Define it as a brush. (don't make it black and white, use it just like it is) remember to save it.
Delete your art and open a new document. This can be web size.

Use your Selection Brush Tool and stamp a blank layer with your new brush.
(all you should see are marching ants)
Open your gradient picker and add your gradient to your marching ants. (draw a line wit the tool)
Now you should see color.
Remember when you open your gradient picker you can choose Load, there are more colors to choose from. Or you can make your own.
Add a white layer as your bottom layer.

Change the blend mode out of normal. Normal is not allowed! (once you highlight normal, all you have to do is use your arrow keys to scroll thru your blend modes until you find something you like.)
While you are at it save more than one image as a brush and use them all on your new art!

Post your new work of "ART" here.

Ok, here is a quick one I did. I have art brushes saved from a class I took.
This has 3 different images stamped. Each on it's own layer and each with a different blend mode.

I found some abstract car art by a WORLD FAMOUS PHOTOGRAPHER online .... ok, you're right, it's one of my own photos that I abstracted myself. (I should get partial credit for the assignment though, because I came close to following the rest of the instructions.) Thanks Kimi ... I love the selection brush tool!!

Here's my effort. I made the brush, stamped it, placed my gradient, then duplicated layer, rotated layer and applied linear light. I then made a selection on top layer with rectangular marquee tool and inverted to create frame with background showing through.....at least that's pretty close to what I did.....oh, and I also put a slight stroke on the stamp edges on the background layer.

Here is another one. This one originally looked like a abstract painted flower arrangement. I use a Christmas gradient and changed the blend mode to exclusion
