Operationphotorescue org started restorations after Katrina. Currently, many of the photos being restored are from the Joplin tornado damage.

fwiw --- for those who are ever concerned about file size, as I currently am (with high resolution, multilayer restoration files)
Nigel French* states that PS layer effects add very little to an image file size. Therefore, one might consider using them in place of adjustment (& other layers) when practical.
