We do check the votes to make sure they come from individual accounts and not spammers - we actually caught a couple users doing that on this particular contest and the ill gotten votes were deleted. Kelsey's votes, however, were legit.

Thanks for the response Amy. I guess she just convinced many friends and family members to create accounts in order to vote.

Amy, this is just my suggestion and opinion and don't know if it would make any difference at all but instead of voting throughout the whole month could the voting start at the end. If someone waits to enter their photo the last few days they never get any votes. It seems voting for the better images and not getting your friends to vote for your own image just to get votes would make more since. If anyone coming to the site wanting to become a member and thinking the winners are always the best photos then the winner of this contest and the food contest is not a representation of all our work. Now that PrestoPhoto is on Facebook, other people will be viewing this also. I don't usually speak-up about these types of things but after the food contest and this one i wanted to add something since other comments were made about it. Sorry about the Rant.

Thanks for the suggestions! We've started to address the issue of people entering later by having the photos automatically sorted by entry date so the latest entries appear at the top. We also close the contest to entries and leave a few extra days for voting, usually about 2-4 days. Do you think that closing the contest for entries earlier and leaving more time for voting would help?

Looks like you're really trying to work this out. I thought maybe the voting would be closed throughout the month and then vote at the end on the amount of days you decide on. This way everyone votes at the same time and not throughout the month. Not sure if this would even help. It might just come down to everyone being honest.
