It's "Make Art Monday!" So let's get busy and make some GREAT art!

Change a blend mode, play with a filter ..... anything goes as "ART"
This Monday's submission is a photo taken at Red Rock Canyon Conservation Area.
Topaz Adjust used and frame by Filter Forge.

f/16 on a sunny day.....:)
The only "water in the air" around here is the Fox River Fountains. The news last night told us we had one day in the entire month of June with measurable rain; some parts of Wisconsin didn't even get that one day. We need rain!

Grand Canal, Venice. Because I got a shot with no motor boats in the foreground I thought it would be fun to age the photo. I have used a combination of Topaz Adjust, Topaz BW effect and Topaz Lens Effect. The effects have all been tweaked - and I have probably overdone it! The frame is a distressed frame from Graphic Authority.

Man cannot change the direction of the wind but he can adjust the sails
Rusty - you can have some of our rain! We have had more than enough over the last couple of months. Before that it had been very dry with drought conditions in places.

I like the effect you have produced.

Nope, from my perspective the result is perfect.
That could be Venice at the turn of the last century.

PS - we'll take whatever rain anybody wants to send us; the funny thing is, there were large storms less than 100 miles south of us the past few days ... hard, driving rain.

No rain in SoCal either.

Here's an entry I made using the Conte Crayon filter.

Love the art.
Great colors and textures, Chas.
Nice treatment on the fountains. Rusty, we were in the same 'no rain' boat until Debby came to visit. Got about 9 or 10 inches out of that. Helped fill the sadly depleted lakes, but now a week later we need rain again for our landscape.
Angela, love the treatment on your canal! Not overdone at all...perfect.
Russ, the 'conte crayon' worked really well on that mountain scene.
I like the art this week!

Judy, sure wish I could create like you do. Super!

I just fiddle with my photos. The lady was walking on the beach, the eyes are of an owl I shot (photographically).

Started with the lady/scene. In Topaz Simplify I like starting with 'Image Crisp Edge'. So easy to adjust sliders to make a painted look or to fatten the lines for a bit of cartoon without going overboard.

Then I used a paint texture - I believe it was one from this forum - and 2 others I found on Deviant Art. Blended the 3 of them with the original photo. Seemed a bit surreal so went further and added the owl's head/blended.
