Thank you, Judy and Betty, for the nice comments.

Very lovely photos, Rusty and Angela. I really enjoy seeing what's going on differnt areas. Thanks for explaining the Fox River problem, Rusty.

Don't think I'm going to make the 8 this month unless i see something fabulous at the Ferry County Fair which opens August 31!

Mary
Mary, I hope you find some fun photo opportunities at the Fair.

I didn't realize there was a hopper on the branch until I saw it on the computer. I was mainly thinking about the damage when I was shooting.

I saw the large feather on the dry ground & thought it would make a more interesting shot than just the parched earth. I don't know what kind of bird lost it, but it must have been large -- maybe a big grackle. However, does a grackle have white fluff? Could it be from a turkey buzzard? It was about a 10 in feather.

This plant is bedraggled, but it managed to produce one more wonder.

The reason I think this little fruit is a wonder --- it is fully exposed to the temps reaching 105 deg & it doesn't wither away. In fact, with a little water, it continues to grown & become pretty, as it turns into a tasty & nutritious treat.

All vegetables & fruit are natural wonders if one stops to think about it. :)

That's a mighty fine looking pig!

I also waited to the last day of the month to complete my eight (Woo Hoo!). Actually, the subject for "my choice" required me to wait until very late in the month.

Well done, Rusty - (and anyone else who managed 8). I struggled to a paltry three. I hope to do better in September!

Betty - I love the treatment you've given the shoe picture.

I have enjoyed all this month's pictures - some very creative ideas
