That's a different looking truck for sure, Betty. Wonder if they'll repaint for other holidays....

Scary: Saw this gal today on the side of a building. Don't know anything about her except that she's probably full of eggs!

Added info: A local just informed me that she's called a popcorn spider or barn spider around here. That isn't an egg sac! :)

What could be more fun than kids jumping onto and off of and playing around hay bales?

Mary, terrific capture of the spider. It sure has interesting markings.
Rusty, the girls look like they are having a great time.

Scary:
Came across this surprise while pruning out a bush. No encounters, thank goodness.

I intended to comment on the spider. Scary - you bet. I don't know anything about 'piders, but you must be right about the eggs.

If those wasps were around here they would be on their last legs. We had our first 'hard freeze' two nights ago.

The kids had a fun time --- lotta baths and hair washing last night!

Rusty, those looks like very happy kids on the hay bales.
Betty, great close-up of the wasp nest.

Strange Attire: At the Okanogan Family Faire near Tonasket, WA I spotted this happy couple in uncommon attire (and a not-so-happy onlooker).

I'm really enjoying the submissions so far.

And here is once for 'choice.' It could be 'window' too, because I shot it through my window. Our neighborhood is only about 12 years old so the trees are still young. It is rare to see a squirrel, which is why Chris and I got excited to see this one on our fence.

Like your squirrel, Courtney.
This isn't in the same class as Mary's post, but it'll work...

Now, I've got two weeks to decide on "my choice"

Mary, great find for attire -- 60's tie dye; love the old barn & bales.
(We're still having temps in the mid to high 80's, so it seems different to see folks bundled up in warm jackets already. However, today, it will only be in the high 70's, which is nice.)

Courtney, more fun photos -- looks like the squirrel is having a race with the truck - great capture through your window. (I have a feeling Chris was in one of the bumper cars.)

Rusty, which costume did you choose for your halloween attire? the beautiful birds enjoying the good stuff from your feeder are beautiful.
btw - would you be willing to trade some of the wonderful birds that visit your yard for some of my mockingbirds or grasshoppers? I have an abundance of both & a shortage of beautiful birds.
